Frequently Asked Questions
General Information & stats
What is MyCareerMatch?
MyCareerMatch is an online preference based behavioural assessment that
helps students choose a career path that matches their natural gifts and
talents. When used in conjunction with other career adviser tools
MyCareerMatch adds a holistic view of potential opportunities and career
pathways.
What's in the report?
Each student receives their own personal career profile which includes
an analysis of their personality style, career paths which may be suited
to them, insights into their work-related strengths and talents,
suitable jobs for their personality style, tips on how to get ahead,
information to use in their resume, and other valuable confidence
boosting information.
How does it work?
MyCareerMatch uses the same assessment tools Fortune 500 companies use
to find the right person for the job. Profiles are broken into 32 groups
of questions. Each group consists of four statements. Students simply
choose one that is most like them and one that is least. Within a few
minutes of completing the profile a career report is sent via email
based on their responses.
On what is My Career Match based?
Based on the theories of personality types and proven behavioural
analysis from psychologists Carl Jung and William Marston, the
MyCareerMatch personality test is based on the premise that there are
four basic personality types: Drivers, Promoters, Supporters and
Analysers. Most people have both a dominant and a secondary personality
type, and this particular combination to a large extent determines how a
person behaves in different situations, what their innate tendencies
are, and what work environments they are most likely to thrive in.
Is the test valid and reliable?
MyCareerMatch has undergone extensive reliability and validity testing
and has demonstrated a high level of accuracy - over 85% - in assessing
and defining different personality types and behavioural styles, and
reliably predicting individual behaviours and traits.
Does My Career Match work in different cultures and countries?
Yes. MyCareerMatch does not ask for or require information on age,
gender, race or religion. It measures the responses to questions that
determine behavioural styles.

Technical support
Contact your school IT administrator. It’s important
that you speak with the person responsible for managing your school’s
computer network and let them what you will be doing. Two things are
necessary. www.MyCareerMatch.co.uk must be added as a trusted
approved site so that students can log on without being blocked by the
networks security setting and secondly students will be receiving email
from
profiler@mycareermatch.com.au and this address needs to be
white-listed and not filtered as spam. If you want students to receive
their reports immediately, that is during a class period, let the IT
manager know, some school servers only check for incoming mail every 30
mins.
Do I need special software to do assessments or read reports?
Reports are sent in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader
installed on your computer. If you don't have this software it is
available for free and you can download a copy from
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html
